I was challenged this time with the New Moon and Solar Eclipse to write a post. The whole week leading to Sunday’s lunation was intense and I was striving to finish deadlines both of publishing my poetry book and preparing to present at a Women’s Conference.
I also think that the astrological aspects of last Friday were such that overshadowed the usual effect a solar eclipse would have had, had we not have been through the forth Uranus-Pluto square. This was an aspect that challenged many people at the emotional level, and we saw examples of such violence in the shootings in LAX and in Athens, Greece.
Overall, I found myself in an inward focused mode and I chose to honor silence and observation. The imagery that followed my understanding throughout the weekend was that of paddling in a little boat through a cave, careful to avoid the side walls as I made my way to its opening out into the big sea.
The New Moon and Solar Eclipse were in Scorpio and they were joined by Mercury retrograde, Saturn and the North Node. Even though a New Moon signals a new beginning, with a solar eclipse attached to it, it may also denote a new understanding as something in the personality eclipses (ends or is transformed).
With all five energies merging in Scorpio, topics of vulnerability, responsibility, ownership of what is essential and true, heightened intuition, and susceptibility to others’ thoughts and opinions may have been in the forefront.
Yet the square of Uranus and Pluto on Friday, I suspect prepared the ground for these insights and what needs to eclipse and be transformed, so that we may move towards greater fulfillment and authentic connection.
Since we are still in the eclipse zone through the week, take the time to reflect on what has transpired for you over the last few days. And, remember that we are working with patterns (thoughts, behaviors, attitudes) that were activated with the New Moon/Solar Eclipse on May 9th.
Have a lovely week!
